Summary

The amazing Aurora, Northern Light, dazzles everyone who have ever seen it. In the clear Arctic air by a tent camp in nature with no artificial light the experience is simply magical. Words cannot explain it; you have to be there!

Notice!; We are in the extraordinary situation that the stream that runs by our camp has dried out. As far as we know this have not been seen before. The logistics in getting water to the camp in an area where any driving is illegal and only carrying water on foot is not realistic for us. Therefore all tours are cancelled in 2016 and we are looking for another area for the Camp Aurora in 2017. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

Description

The amazing Northern Light is best seen out in nature with no artificial light to disturb the pure feeling of the dancing and ever changing Aurora.

The camp is already set when you arrive, giving you the opportunity to take in every second of your stay - and enjoy the full rich experience of Northern Light in the perfect surroundings. A 6 km hike from the end of the dirt road will take us to camp, from where we also will spend some of the hours of daylight to go musk ox sightseeing and see some of the Inuit Ruins that tells us about former days' life in the area.

In between the hikes and meals, you will have plenty of time to take in the moment and enjoy the surroundings, the silence and become one with the arctic nature. This is pure, arctic mindfulness!

You will enjoy three days and two nights in our tent camp, followed by two nights in the local youth hostel, where a tour to the amazing Greenlandic Ice Cap is included. The ideal time for the tour is in the fall, where it has become dark enough for Northern Light, but summers warmth has not yet completely left the land. The beautiful nature is by then even more astonishing in its autumn colors, and the tent and gear will keep us warm during the nights in the beautiful arctic autumn.

We always eat the locally hunted meat from musk ox, reindeer and snow hare - usually we also supply with whatever herbs or mushrooms we can harvest in nature.
